Overview

Receipt Scanner Pro is designed with your privacy in mind. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

Data We Collect

Receipt Images (Processed, Not Stored)

When you scan a receipt, the image is sent to our server for AI analysis. The image is processed in real-time to extract text information (vendor, amount, category) and is not stored on our servers after processing is complete.

Device Identifier

We generate a random identifier for your device to manage your scan quota and subscription status. This identifier is not linked to your personal identity.

Subscription Information

If you subscribe to Pro, we receive confirmation of your subscription status from Apple. We do not receive or store your payment information.

Data We Do Not Collect

• Your name, email, or contact information (unless you contact support)
• Your location
• Your photos (beyond receipts you explicitly scan)
• Analytics or tracking data
• Advertising identifiers

Where Your Data Is Stored

On Your Device

Receipt images and extracted data are stored locally on your device using Core Data.

In iCloud

If you have iCloud enabled, your receipts sync to your personal iCloud account via CloudKit. This data is encrypted and controlled by Apple. We do not have access to your iCloud data.

On Our Servers

We store only your device identifier and subscription status. Receipt images are processed but not retained.

Third-Party Services

Anthropic (Claude AI)

We use Anthropic's Claude AI to analyze receipt images. Images are sent via API for processing. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this processing. According to Anthropic's API terms, data sent via API is not used to train their models.

Apple

Subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store. iCloud sync uses Apple's CloudKit service. Apple's privacy policies apply to these services.

Vercel

Our API is hosted on Vercel. Vercel's privacy policy applies to server operations.

Data Retention

• Receipt images on servers: Not retained (processed in real-time only)
• Device identifiers: Retained while you use the app
• Local data: Retained until you delete it or uninstall the app
• iCloud data: Retained until you delete it from iCloud

Your Rights

You can:

• Delete all local data through the app's Settings
• Delete iCloud data through your iCloud settings
• Request deletion of your device identifier by contacting us
• Uninstall the app at any time

Children's Privacy

This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app or on this page.
